Miniature SMT Triacs Have Thin Design

Low-power triacs have developed a position as an ac semiconductor switch for home use and office automation equipment. Through its alliance with Mitsubishi Electric, the firm has responded by offering a complete lineup of miniature, thinly-designed, surface-mount triacs.
The devices are provided in three industry-standard packages: SOT-89, DPAK, and D2PAK with ratings that include a blocking voltage capability of 400V and 600V with RMS on-state current ranging from 0.8A to 16A. Applications include electrical appliances, such as switching power supplies, programmable controllers, and solid-state relays. Pricing ranges from $0.75 to $1.47 each/1000.
