The IRU3038 synchronous pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller IC handles the termination-voltage requirements of double-data-rate (DDR) memory arrays. By simplifying design and cutting component count, this IC enables cost-effective power management for DDR memory for currents in the 3- to 10-A range. Also, it integrates an error amplifier into the PWM controller package to ease implementation of the power-management circuit for termination voltage (VTT). It's capable of voltage-tracking accuracy of less than 1.5%. It additionally integrates a high-side and low-side driver. In a synchronous buck converter, it provides current levels of up to 10 A using the IRF7457 and IRF7460 HEXFET power MOSFETs. For current levels up to 3 A, the IRF7313 dual MOSFET can be used. Pricing for the IRU3038CF in a SOIC-14 package starts at $0.82 each for 10,000-piece quantities.
