Specifically optimized to maintain signal integrity and to provide circuit protection without compromising space in digital and analog applications is the HP HBAT-540x/HSMS-270x series of n-doped silicon Schottky barrier diodes. Low resistance allows the devices to sustain higher current magnitudes without damaging the diodes themselves, it's claimed.With picosecond switching speeds, the devices can respond to noise spikes with rise times as fast as 1 ns. Low capacitance helps prevent insertion loss and waveform degradation that lead to distorted data. The HBAT-5400 version features low capacitance of 3.0 pF, while the HSMS-2700 version features a lower series resistance of 0.67 ohms.
