Lauded as the industry's fastest step-up switching current mode dc/dc converter in a SOT-23 package, the LT1930A is a 1A regulator operating at 2.2 MHz. The device generates a 5V output from an input voltage as low as 2.6V and requires a minimal amount of external parts. The device operates from a 2.6V to 16V supply and has an internal 1A, 36V rated switch. Its 0.01 uA shutdown current eliminates battery drain during shutdown, extending operating time in battery-powered portable devices. Pricing starts at $1.85 each/1,000.
