The LTC3811, a dual-output, synchronous step-down dc/dc controller, employs multi-phase operation with differential output voltage sensing and PLL synchronization. Users can parallel up to 12 phases and clock them out-of-phase to minimize I/O filtering requirements for applications up to 200A. The device’s differential amp provides true remote output voltage sensing and operates with all N-channel MOSFETs. Supporting input voltages from 4.5V to 30V, output voltage spans 0.6V to 3.3V. Programmable operating frequency ranges from 250 kHz to 750 kHz, or users can synchronize the device to an external clock via its PLL from 150 kHz to 900 kHz. Additionally, the LTC3811 specifies a VREF of ±0.5% over an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Available in a 36-lead SSOP or 38-lead QFN, price starts at $3.75 each/1,000.
