Switching Controller Steps Down 4.5- To 35-V Input With High Efficiency

March 4, 2002
The LM3485 hysteretic PFET buck controller steps down a 4.5- to 35-V input to an adjustable value as low as 1.242 V for loads up to 400 mA. Operating at frequencies up to and above 1 MHz, the controller achieves 93% efficiency, while requiring no...

The LM3485 hysteretic PFET buck controller steps down a 4.5- to 35-V input to an adjustable value as low as 1.242 V for loads up to 400 mA. Operating at frequencies up to and above 1 MHz, the controller achieves 93% efficiency, while requiring no control-loop compensation. What's more, it performs current limiting using the PFET's RDS(ON), eliminating a costly sense resistor. Packaging is in 8-pin MSOPs.

Pricing is $0.50 each per 1000 pieces.
