Claiming to set new standards for dropout voltage and speed, the Si9182DH voltage regulator has a 180-mV dropout at its continuous maximum output current of 250 mA. The regulator allows the use of either ceramic or tantalum 2.2-µF capacitors on the input and output in power conversion designs. Line and load transient response is typically less than 2 µs. Input voltage ranges from 2V to 6V and a range of adjustable output voltages is available from 1.8V to 5V.
