1553 Interface Cards Conform To PC/104 Form-Factor

July 1, 2002

Single-function MIL-STD-1553 data bus interface cards are available built around the company’s Enhanced Mini-ACE terminal architecture and in accordance with PC/104 v2.3 specs. Targeted for military avionics and ground vehicle applications, the 16-bit convection-cooled BU-65567/68 cards boast of a highly flexible RT mode offering single, double, sub-address-specific circular and global circular buffering options—including 50% and 100% rollover interrupts. In addition, the BU-65568 has four dual-redundant bus controller/remote terminal/monitor (BC/RT/MT) channels. Its BC mode has a built-in message sequence control engine with instructions for offloading the host processor. It also features programmable and selectable monitoring based on RT address, transmit/receive bit, and sub-address, and a 32-KB paging mode as well as a flat addressing mode for up to 512 KB supporting numerous platforms. Further, each Enhanced Mini-ACE terminal includes autonomous, BIST capability for protocol logic and RAM. For more details, call Mike Hegarty at DATA DEVICE CORP., Bohemia, NY. (631) 567-5600.
