64-Bit Embedded Processor Hums Along At 250 MHz

Claimed as the fastest 64-bit embedded microprocessor currently available, the 250-MHz version of the RC5000 processor is well suited to high-end data communication and office automation applications, as well as arcade games and graphics products. The 330-Dhrystone MIPS processor sports a full 64-bit architecture and provides 5-Gb/s bandwidth.The chip is bus-compatible with the company's RC4xxx and earlier RC5000 chips, enabling existing users to easily upgrade to the higher-performance device. It offers dual 32-kbyte caches with an on-chip secondary cache controller, enabling it to sustain high performance in real-world applications. Development support is available.
