Coax Connector System Boasts Of Small, Light Design

Dec. 1, 1998

Claimed to be the world's smallest and lightest coax connector system, Nano-Coax connectors integrate shielded pins and sockets into "nano-miniature" shells, sharing space with 0.025" pitch signal wires. Well-suited for handling high-speed digital and video signals and employing 32 AWG coax wire, the plug and socket connector set offers performance of up to 3 GHz, impedance of about 40 ohms due to diameter, insertion loss of 1.8 dB at 3 GHz, and signal integrity of >50% at 4 GHz.
