Connectors Target SCSI And Fibre Channel Apps

May 1, 2000

The HD2 series of connectors are for use in making SCA-2 connections in SCSI, Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications. Available in 20-, 40- or 80-pin sizes, the connectors feature blind mating with ±2 mm misalignment tolerance and first-make, last-break contacts for power and ground applications. The 20-pin size is used for internal GigaBit Interface Converter connections for Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet copper and optical cables. The 40- and 80-pin connectors conform to SFF-8046 and are used for 3.5" hard drive-to-backplane connections in RAID systems and servers in Fibre Channel and SCSI applications, respectively. Ribbon style contacts are on 0.50" pitch, and insulators are SMT temperature resistant thermoplastic. Contacts are rated at 500V ac at 1.5A.
