Differential Connector Series Supports Gigabit Transfer Rates

May 1, 1999

Support for high-speed data transmission rates up to 2.5 Gb/s with less than 1% crosstalk at 100 ps pulse-rise time is supplied by the FCN-260(D) matched-impedance connector series. The connector is meant for differential data transmission but is said to be equally effective in single-ended systems to facilitate the transfer from 100-Mb/s to 1- and 2-Gb/s speeds. The connector has also been tested at edge rates of 35 ps with less than 1.5% crosstalk, making it suitable for legacy usage for multiple product generations.Applications include telecom hubs and distributed data environments, including networks, workstations and file servers.
