Dual-Processor Server Fits In 2U Form Factor

Dec. 1, 2001

The latest addition to a line of Internet-focused compact servers, the RS-200-RF, targets applications that require intensive processing capabilities, including ISP/ICP/ASP, co-location, server farms, and network attached storage. This compact, 2U-high rackmount server has a dual CPU architecture that suits any application requiring high computing muscle in a small footprint. Its Serverworks Serverset 30LE chipset accommodates a 133 MHz frontside and supports single or dual Intel FC-PGA Pentium III CPUs running at speeds up to 1 GHz in single or symmetric multiprocessing configurations. Each of the four DIMM sockets sustains 1 GB of registered PC 133 SDRAM with ECC for a total 4 GB. A full set of standard PC I/O interfaces ensure compatibility with standard devices and components, such as an RS-232 serial port, a parallel port or two USB ports. In addition to space for a slim floppy disk drive and CD-ROM drive, the server chassis has six bays to accommodate 3.5'' Ultra 160 SCSI hard disk drives. RS-200-RF has a 300W ATX power supply, with a redundant 300W (1+1) ATX power supply for backup. Pricing is $2,000 each with OEM volume discounts available. ADVANTECH TECHNOLOGIES INC., San Diego, CA.
