Motion Controller Communicates At FireWire Speeds

The FW-7344 motion controller is claimed to be the industry's first to use the IEEE-1394 FireWire communication bus. Data transfers of up to 400 Mb/s are possible and the device can be installed anywhere within 4.5 m of its host PC or another FW-7344 module. Up to 32 controllers can be connected in a daisy-chain configuration. They can be programmed with C/C++ or the company's LabWindows/CVI. Pricing is $2195.
