Networking Products Offer Linux Support

Dec. 1, 1999

Linux operating system driver support (Red Hat 6.0) is now offered for the firm’s PCI Reflective Memory line of networking products. The driver supports both shared-memory and Internet Protocol (IP) modes of operation. Shared memory is used for real-time networking in which application-level programs in different nodes share data via Reflective Memory. IP allows Reflective Memory to function as the physical layer of TCP/IP. These features provide all the file handling, socket and stream functions of TCP/IP. Reflective Memory technology is a fast, efficient means of sharing data across distributed and/or dissimilar computer nodes.
