Next Gen Digitizers Break Analog Bandwidth Barrier

March 1, 2002

Based on advanced SiGe BiCMOS technology, the single-channel DC211, dual-channel DC241, and quad-channel DC271 represent the companyÕs second generation of digitizer modules. Doubling key performance specs of their predecessors, the new digitizers deliver an analog bandwidth up to 1 GHz with a sampling rate to 4 Gsamples/s and a memory length up to 32 Mpoints. Each module is packaged in a 6U, CompactPCI format and includes a timing system with an accuracy and stability in excess of ±2 ppm. Typical power consumption is less than 40W. In terms of use, the digitizers provide front panel I/O and are compared in operation to a common digital storage oscilloscope (DSO). With Windows-based software, users can adjust acquisition settings, while front-end electronics control input impedance, coupling, gain, offset, and other parameters.
