Press-In Connector Allows Assembly Of Backplanes With Various Components

Sept. 1, 1998

Backplane assembly with components of various sizes, heights, and pin counts without the need for any in-process adjustment to the machine is made possible by a press-in, 68-way, SCSI-3 female connector with an all-plastic body. The design of the contact press-in zone is compatible with finished plated through-hole sizes between 0.55 and 0.67 mm, providing a 25% increase in the tolerance normally recommended. The connector is designed for use with "flat rock" insertion machines.
