Profibus Switch Mounts On Bus Exterior

May 1, 2001

By mounting the ERbic Profibus slide switch on the exterior rather than interior of the bus connector, users have a simple and flexible means of switching the connector between termination and node modes of operation. And while troubleshooting networks, the new connector-and-switch design allows the appropriate node connector to be terminated and separated from adjacent network devices.
This allows the remainder of the system to continue operation without disruption. Through integration of SMT inductors into its design, the bus connector can support data rates up to 12 Mb/s.
