Pulse Transformers Target Digital Audio Applications

Feb. 1, 2001

This series of pulse transformers are said to work to improve the balance of transmitter and receiver circuitry in hi-fi equipment, video games and other applications requiring high-performance digital audio data transmission. Compliant with the AES/EBU recommendations for the digital audio interface, the DA digital audio transformers have optimized shunt capacitance between primary and secondary windings. Each device, encapsulated in UL 94V-0 packaging, combines high-performance common mode noise rejection with an isolation level of 500 Vdc. Surface-mount and leaded options are available, with inductance ratings ranging from 1 to 4 mH and maximum dc resistance values between 0.45 ohms and 0.75 ohms nominal. The DA transformers comply with all relevant standards, including AES 3-1985 (ANSI S4.404-1985), AES 3199Xdraft, IEC 958, CP340 and EBU 3250.
