The MPS (Magnetic Positioning Sensor) and the MZT8 Magnetic Cylinder Sensor enable cost-effective and accurate solutions for piston detection. The MPS is a non-contact linear measurement solution with 4- to 20-mA and 0- to 10-V analog output for cylinders and grippers with various stroke sizes. The sensor offers four stroke sizes: 32, 64, 96, and 128 mm, providing increased measurement flexibility to better meet customers’ needs. Also, the MPS is easy to install and set up due to a single-button, adjustable teach-in of the zero and final point. Repeatability is 0.1 mm; measurement speed is 0.5 ms, and resolution is 0.05 mm. Minimal blind zones allow efficient measurement of the stroke. The MZT8 is an extremely flexible and compact pneumatic cylinder sensor for t-slots. This sensor offers the shortest sensor housing length on the market, only 24 mm, which makes it well-suited for short-stroke cylinders and small mounting spaces. Also, the MZT8 incorporates a custom ASIC chip with GMR technology that provides ±5% sensitivity tolerance. Plus, the device has an active sensor tip (sensing element) that provides more precise piston detection at the end of a stroke as it reduces travel loss. SICK INC., Minneapolis, MN. (978) 392-0002.
