Snap-Together Modules Make Custom Power Strips

May 1, 2001

A series of DIN 41612-based two- and three-pin modules that snap together can be used to create customized 750V/20A power strips. The Type EMSP male and female power connectors can be clipped together side by side on a 1.27-mm grid and have a current load capacity of 20A per pin. Increased air and creepage distances allow for an operating voltage of 750V. The solder pins of the male connector are right-angled to the contact pins and have two pins per contact at the solder site. Female contacts have two solder pins for connection to the PCB.
