Offered as an add-on module for the comany's EMF solutions and introduced in its High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) version 7.0, Optimetrics is a smart parametrics and optimization engine that allows users to perform parametric and sensitivity analysis, and optimization from an easy to use interface. It is also claimed to be the only design tool that can import parametric simulation results directly into the optimizer. Optometrics also allows users to: place parametric controls on geometric shapes and positions; set design criteria for acceptable performance; vary material properties associated with the parts within a component; alter boundary conditions; and use mathematical optimization methods to fine-tune and establish the optimum design.
