Addressing difficult mixed-signal design tasks, an optimization module added to the company's DesignMaxx software allows designers to automatically determine the parameters for circuits to match the target design. Target analog circuits include amplifiers, filters, converters, timers, and comparators. Digital targets include high-speed data paths and I/O buffers.First, the DesignMaxx determines the gradient of the output spec regarding every circuit parameter of interest. Next, the optimization module automatically calculates all complex specs. Design constraints are then added to the calulations to ensure that design rules are met once optimization is complete. The optimization module is available from Fluence Technology.
