The use of dc-dc converters is increasing. As electronic systems become more miniaturized, mobile, complicated, and popular, their power requirements become more varied. Proper inductor selection requires a good understanding of data sheet specification parameters including inductance, DC resistance, self resonant frequency, saturation current and RMS current, and how each of these affects desired in-circuit performance.
