Kikusui Electronic Loads Enable for DC/DC Transient Testing

Nov. 14, 2024
Various test configurations require a DC electronic load with a rapid slew rate to thoroughly evaluate the impedance variations of the device under test (DUT).

Numerous factors such as power supply voltage undershoots, overshoots, and ringing can occur in response to load transients. DUT is the PXB20K-1000, a 20kW bidirectional high-capacity DC power supply that offers a voltage output from 0V up to 1000V in constant voltage (CV) mode. When analyzing the transient response behavior of the DUT, it is necessary to select a high slew rate electronic load.

In this letter we will explain about our PXB bidirectional supply, and the DUT, which is set to constant voltage (CV) mode at 500V. The 1kW PLZ and 1500V PXZ electronic loads can be set as follows:

  •  1500V PXZ: I-V function, 50V at 0.5A, 450V at 30A.
  • 1kW PLZ: CC function, 0-20A, slew rate set to 1 A/µs.
