Clock Requirements for High Data Rates

Jan. 29, 2025
All data flows through wired and wireless networks, threading in and out of data centers. To keep up with this ever-growing network traffic, data centers use high-speed, high-bandwidth optical communication links. These actions involving data inside the processor are triggered by a clock signal.

In our day-to-day lives, we’re generating and consuming more data than ever. All it takes is a quick look around the house to see how things have changed. We know that this has will create and serve massive  amounts of data. But in order to  manage these high data rates, it’s  critical to better understand and  rethink our timing technologies.
