eHandbook: Compute Express Link and Memory Expansion
June 11, 2025
Compute Express Link (CXL) provides high capacity, cache-coherent memory expansion in a standardize fashion that targets data center and cloud computing systems. It is based on PCI Express to overcome the limitations of conventional processor/memory support needed for high performance computing (HPC) applications such as artificial intelligence (AI) in the cloud.
