ADCs Integrate 20 Active Devices onto a Single Chip

Oct. 9, 2014
Texas Instruments expanded its successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) portfolio with a new high-voltage family.

Texas Instruments expanded its successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) portfolio with a new high-voltage family. The 8-channel ADS8688 and 4-channel ADS8684 allow input ranges up to ±10.24 V to be powered by a single 5-V supply. This helps simplify system power requirements. The ADCs feature low gain drift, offset voltage and offset drift, and high precision to enable accuracy throughout the full extended industrial temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. Each device integrates 20 active devices onto one chip including programmable gain amplifiers (PGAs), driver amplifiers, multiplexers, voltage references, reference buffers, and an auxiliary channel input for interfacing.
