Accelerating design cycles for manufacturers of medium- and large-screen DTVs including DLP HDTV, LCD, and plasma, the TPA3100D2 and TPA3101D2 audio power amplifiers feature Class-D operation, pop/click-minimizing circuitry, and low THD. The TPA3100D2 delivers up to 20W per channel of continuous stereo output power into an 8Ω load with 92% efficiency and no heat sink, while the TPA3101D2 is a pin-for-pin version providing 10W per channel. Both devices can drive a nominal load down to 4Ω and operate on supply voltages from 10V to 26V. Currently, the power amplifiers are available in 48-pin, 7 mm x 7 mm 48-pin QFN packages and will also be available at some point in 48-pin TQFPs. Prices for the TPA3100D2 and TPA3101D2 are $3.50 and $3.10 each/1,000, respectively. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
