Schottky Diodes Eye High-Performance Mixer/Detector Apps

Dubbed the industry’s smallest and lowest profile silicon RF Schottky diodes in 0201 surface-mount packages, the SMS7621-096 and SMS7630-093 target a wide range of high-volume and cost-sensitive applications including CATV/DBS set-top boxes, microwave radios, RFID tags, wireless infrastructure, and embedded WLAN 802.11a/b/g/n modules. The SMS7621-096 is a low barrier silicon Schottky diode for applications including RF-power detection, video sampling circuits, and low-conversion-loss balanced mixers at frequencies up to 26 GHz. In its 0201 form factor, overall height is less than 0.3 mm. Both devices are protected with a stress absorbent passivation, are compatible with existing high-speed 0201 surface mount assembly equipment, and operate over a temperature range of -65?C to +150?C.
