Get Negative Rail Using CMOS Gates

A negative rail can be obtained from a positive supply using two 74HC04 CMOS hex inverter chips in a charge-pump circuit. The circuit's input range is 1.2 to 7.0 V, and the no-load loss is only 1 mV.
