Claiming to reduce conduction losses by up to 25%, the M series of 600V, short-circuit-rated IGBT/FRED Co-Pack devices are designed for use with sub-two horsepower industrial and appliance motor drives. They are also said to provide an 18% lower saturation voltage than previous generation short-circuit rated devices, resulting in reduced conduction losses by up to 25% at 50% duty-cycle operating conditions. Three devices, the IRG4BC15MD, IRG4B20MD, and IRG4BC20MD-S, provide maximum powers of 1.4 kW, 1.5 kW, and 1.5 kW, respectively. The IRG4BC20-S is available in a D2Pak Co-Pack, while the other two devices come in a TO-220 Co-Pack. Pricing begins at $1.10 each/10,000. INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7019.
