MIL-STD-883 LNA Modules Cover Up To 18 GHz

July 23, 2007
Narda Microwave-East's new line of low-noise amplifiers features noise figures as low as 1.8 dB and gains as high as 28 dB.

A comprehensive line of low-noise amplifier (LNA) modules from Narda Microwave-East covers up to 18 GHz in several bands. Noise figures are as low as 1.8 dB, with gains up to 28 dB ±2 dB or less and P1dB output power of up to 20 dBm. The modules comply with MIL-STD-883, suiting them for applications ranging from broadband test equipment to aerospace and defense systems.

The temperature-compensated NEL-0618T620-5MH covers 6 to 18 GHz. It features a P1dB output power of at least 20 dBm, a gain of 28 dB ±2 dB or less, and a 4-dB noise figure. Also, it runs on a 12-V dc supply, drawing 490 mA or less. The NEL-0102N305-1MH covers 500 MHz to 2 GHz, with a noise figure of 2 dB or less, a gain of at least 28 dB ±0.5 dB, and a P1dB output power of at least 5 dBm. It also runs on a single 12-V dc supply, drawing 150 mA or less.

The input and output voltage standing-wave ratio of both amplifiers is 2:1 or better. Their standard package is Narda's 5MH low-profile, nickel-plated aluminum housing, which allows connectors to be removed for surface mounting and is hermetically sealed. Maximum RF input power is +17 dBm CW or +27 dBm pulse (1 µs, 1% duty cycle). Operating temperature ranges from –54°C to 85°C.
