The option of an integrated true analog dimming mode in a pair of white-LED drivers offers a noise-free alternative to pulsed dimming control. The ZXLD1100 (six-pin SC70 package) and ZXLD1101 (SOT-23-5 package) inductive boost converters can produce an adjustable linear output current for controlling the brightness of series-connected LEDs used in color-LCD backlighting. Both include internal NDMOS switches and peak current-sense resistors. Prices start at $0.48 each in lots of 10,000, with delivery in four to six weeks.
