Planegg, Germany: The Maxim TINI family of systems-on-a-chip (SoCs) and codecs targets smart phones, tablet PCs, smart TVs, home-monitoring cameras, and other consumer applications.

The portfolio includes TINI power SoCs, which integrate all the functional blocks needed to power applications and baseband processors, along with mixed-signal functions like audio, battery management, and touchscreen controllers. According to Maxim, these SoCs will allow mobile platform system designers to cut their analogue footprint in half.

Notably, the TINI touchscreen controller SoC (MAX11871) integrates the industry’s highest signal-to-noise (SNR) capacitive touch analogue front end with full backend processing on Maxim’s MAXQ CPU enhanced with a custom DSP co-processor. A super-narrowband analog front end (AFE) provides breakthrough immunity to ac chargers and LCD noise without any external components.

Maxim says it is aggressively investing in its analogue integration capabilities and will continue to build out its TINI portfolio with other highly integrated solutions in the future.
