Performing output rectification in industrial switch mode power supplies, particularly those found in high frequency and tungsten inert gas welding machines, the 60APU06 and 60EPU06 epitaxial, platinum-diffused diodes provide the ability to set or adjust diode-recovery speeds. Also considered desirable, both devices specify a reverse voltage (VR) of 600V and operate at switching frequencies beyond 50 kHz. They exhibit identical specifications with the exception of packaging: the 60APU06 comes in a three-lead TO-247 and 60EPU06 is available in a two-lead TO-247. Common features include a trr of 34 ns, maximum thermal resistance of 0.63 K/W, maximum junction temperature of 175°C, forward voltage of 1.42V (1.68V maximum), and a current rating of 60A at a case temperature of 116°C. Price for either diode is $2.56 each/10,000. For more information, contact Wayne Yoshida at INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER, El Segundo, CA. (310) 252-7726.
