Introduced as the industry's fastest and most accurate 16-bit, successive-approximation (SAR) a/d converter, the AD7621 delivers up to 3 Msamples/s and a ±1 LSB INL with no missing codes. The device consumes less than 100 mW while sampling at maximum speed. Operating from a single 5V supply, the device can be interfaced to either 5V or 3.3V digital logic, with the SAR architecture ensuring that there are no pipeline delays. Other features include a 90 dB SNR, conversion clock, internal reference buffer, error correction circuits, and both serial and parallel interface ports. The device is available in 48-lead 7 mm x 7 mm LFCSP and LQFP packages with three different conversion-rate modes to accommodate individual applications. Price is $29.95 each/1,000.
