Miniature dc-dc Converters Feature 3-kV Isolation

July 24, 2006
DCH01 series from Texas Instruments comes in six output voltages.

Running off a 5-V input, the DCH01 family of 1-W, unregulated dc-dc converters comes in six versions, offering single outputs of 5, 12, or 15 V or complementary dual-output voltages of ±5, ±12, or ±15 V. The plug-in power modules deliver up to 85% efficiency and easily meet UL60950 specifications with 3-kV RMS isolation and EN55022 Class B EMC performance. Operating temperature range is -40 deg. C to 85 deg. C.

The DCH01 series offers effective point-of-load power conversion and ground loop elimination for noise sensitive applications. They are well-suited for industrial applications like data acquisition, motor control, programmable logic control, test and measurement, medical instrumentation, and professional audio. The modules use pc-board construction and are housed in an industry-standard 20-mm by 8-mm by 10-mm SIP-7 package that is RoHS compliant. The open-frame design enhances reliability by eliminating potting, which is commonly employed in such converters.

AVAILABILITY
The DCH01 series is currently shipping in volume from TI and its authorized distributors. PRICING
The modules cost $4.25 in 1000-piece quantities. FOR MORE INFORMATION
