Featuring galvanically separated circuits in a device targeted for use in environments such as coal mines, chemistry labs, and refineries, the CNY65Exi consists of a phototransistor optically coupled to a GaAs infrared-emitting diode in a four-lead, plastic package. The high-voltage optocoupler offers an input-to-output distance of greater than 3 mm and a current transfer range (CTR) of 50% to 300%, with the device meeting the European Union's ATEX standard for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres. The device's specially molded plastic package measures 17.8 x 9.6 x 6.1 mm high. And it features a pin index of 15.24 mm and is designed for a J coupling system. The CNY65Exi high-voltage optocoupler is priced at $1.50 each/100K, with lead times of six weeks for larger orders. For more details, contact Paula Scinto at VISHAY AMERICAS INC., Malvern, PA.
