Coupled with a strong adjacent-channel leakage ratio (ACLR), the MAX5888 16-bit, 500-Msample/s digital-to-analog converter (DAC) offers high-end spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR). The device features a low-voltage differential signal input interface. At a 40-MHz output frequency, it offers an SFDR of 76 dBc. At an output frequency of 61 MHz (3.8-MHz channel), the ACLR is 73 dBc. The MAX5888 can achieve this performance while typically consuming only 130 mW at a 100-Msample/s sampling rate. The unit is available in a compact 68-pin QFN-EP package and operates from −40°C to 85°C. Pricing starts at $34.50 each in 1000-unit lots.
