Four new series of discrete infrared components, including both emitting and receiving devices, are available in a miniaturized surface-mount package with an integrated lens measuring just 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm x 2.8 mm high. Applications range from steering wheel encoders and window controls in automobiles to IrDA-compatible data transmission in PDAs and notebook computers.
For photo interrupter, miniature light barrier, optical counter, and IR sensor applications, the 950-nm TEMT10xx photo transistor and TSML10xx IR emitter series are available. For IrDA-compliant data transmission, high-speed optical encoder systems, and fiber optic modules, the 870-nm high-speed IR series is available. All device series are offered with four- lead configuration options.
