Tooled for digital pre-distortion, power-amplifier (PA) linearization applications, the LTC2220-1 a/d converter samples at 185 Msamples/s with a 12-bit resolution and is available in a 64-pin QFN package measuring 9 mm x 9 mm. The device is also suitable for use in microwave links between cellular base station transceivers. Operating from a single 3.3V supply, the device consumes 910 mW. Other features include: a SNR of 67.5 dB with inputs up to 140 MHz; 775 MHz full-power bandwidth; SFDR of 80 dB with inputs up to 170 MHz; LVDS, CMOS, or demultiplexed CMOS outputs; selectable input ranges of ±0.5V or ±1V; no missing codes; and shutdown and sleep modes.
