The LTC3900 and LTC3901 secondary-side, synchronous n-channel MOSFET drivers integrate timer and current-sense comparators to protect the external power MOSFETs deployed in isolated dc/dc converters. Protection occurs during normal and light-load operation, as well as power up and down. Additionally, a programmable time-out function disables the drivers when the synch signal between primary and secondary sides disappears or is incorrect. The LTC3900 and LTC3901 are priced at $2.50 and $2.60 each/1,000, respectively. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA. (800) 454-6327.
