Capable of driving a wide variety of loads, the OPA567 op amp operates from either single or dual supplies and can be used in virtually any configuration. Delivering an output current of 2A, the unity-gain stable device provides a rail-to-rail swing on the input and output with the output swing staying within 300 mV of the supply rails. Lower-current loads allow an output swing closer to the rails resulting in higher performance. The op amp is suitable for driving valves, actuators, laser diode pumps, and servomotors as well as other applications that include thermoelectric coolers, synchro drivers, and transducer excitation. Other features include a diagnostic flag for temperature overstress that can also be configured to provide thermal shutdown. Available in a lead-free, 5 mm x 5 mm QFN-12 package, price is $1.85 each/1,000. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924.
