A proprietary No Latency architecture and on-chip digital filter enables the LTC2439-1 16-bit a/d converter to settle in a single conversion cycle even after a change in multiplexer input channels. Transparent auto calibration ensures stable output codes independent of time, temperature, supply voltage and channel selection. The accepts 16 single-ended input channels or 8 differential input channels. A micropower device, it operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply and draws 200 µA when converting data and 4 µA in auto sleep mode. It contains an internal oscillator but can be driven by an external oscillator for a user-defined rejection frequency. The IC accepts any differential reference voltage from 0.1V to VCC. The full-scale bipolar input range is from -0.5 to 0.5 VREF. Simultaneous rejection of 50/60 Hz line frequencies allows direct connection to most sensors. The device is supplied in a 28-pin SSOP package in both commercial and industrial temperature ranges. Pricing begins at $3.75 each/1,000. LINEAR TECHNOLOGY CORP., Milpitas, CA.
