Groomed for ultrasound applications, the MD3880 four-channel, low-noise amplifier (LNA) with integrated variable-gain amplifier (VGA) specifies a current noise figure of 0.35 pA/ÖHz and a voltage noise of 0.74 nV/ÖHz. The amp provides fully differential inputs and outputs and its programmable gain amplifier offers four discrete gain settings. The output of the LNA is fed directly into the VGA, eliminating the need for an external coupling capacitor. Available in an 84-lead BCC+ package (MD3880B2-G), pricing is $12 each/1,000.
