Addressing emerging consumer audio applications, the WM9709 chip combines a 20-bit stereo D/A converter with an AC’97 control and a PC-data interface, components commonly found on most PC mother- boards. The device operates from a single 3.3V power supply or a combination 3V digital and 5V analog supply. Audio performance specs include a SNR of 102 dB and a THD of -95 dB. Additionally, the DAC supports surround, center and LFE channels, and a complete reference design, documentation, and evaluation boards are available.
