Intersil Opens Second Design Center In India

Analog chipmaker Intersil Corporation opened a new design center in Hyderabad, India to augment ongoing product development efforts at the Bangalore design center and expand the company's presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Analog chipmaker Intersil Corporation opened a new design center in Hyderabad, India to augment ongoing product development efforts at the Bangalore design center and expand the company's presence in the Asia-Pacific region. Intersil said the center will attract top design talent in India, which has a significant amount of experienced semiconductor designers. "India is an exciting market and well-positioned for phenomenal growth," Dave Bell, Intersil's president and Chief Operating Officer, said in a statement. "We know from experience that India is also home to many talented engineers. The talent in this new design center, in conjunction with our design center in Bangalore, will allow us to expand our development of high-performance analog ICs." The center will staff about thirty engineers by the end of 2007, according to a company release, and will accelerate Intersil's product initiatives in analog, mixed signal, and power management products.
