The performance demanded by Class D audio systems is said to be delivered by a new series of N- and P-channel MOSFETs. The FETs's 35V breakdown voltage, low on-resistance, and gate charge requirement is said to ensure delivery of up to 100W into a 4-ohm load. Suitable for use in 4:1 and 5:1 home theater systems, the ZXM64N035 N-channel and ZXM64P035 P-channel parts are offered in SOT223 packages for 50W music channels and in TO-220 packages to meet the high power demands of the sub-woofer channel (up to 100W). The MOSFETs can be used to provide a high efficiency output stage for the company's ZXCD1000 Class D audio controller IC. The FETs cost $0.60 each/1,000.
