Claiming to be the fastest such device on the market, the AD9238 12-bit A/D converter performs conversions at up to 65 Msamples/s and is also available in 20- and 40-Msample/s versions. Power consumption at 3V ranges from 180 mW to 600 mW, said to be 50% less than comparable devices. Other features include dual sample-and-hold amplifiers, an integrated voltage reference, a 70 dB SNR and 85 dB spurious free dynamic range (SFDR), and input frequencies up to 200 MHz. Operation is via a single 3V power supply. A separate digital output driver supply accommodates 2.5V and 3.3V logic devices. In 64-lead LQFPs, prices are $13.15 (20 Msamples/s), $14.95 (40 Msamples/s), and $21.95 (65 Msamples/s), each/1,000. ANALOG DEVICES INC., Wilmington, MA. (800) 262-5643.
